Oklahoma’s Shepherd named RVDA Chairman

Outgoing RVDA Chairman Mike Regan passes the gavel to new Chairman Ron Shepherd, while RVDA President approaches to award a plaque to Regan.

Ron Shepherd of Camperland of Oklahoma became the 2020 chairman of the RVDA during the association’s annual meeting in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Shepherd’s appointment came on the third day of the RV Dealers Convention/Expo at Caesar’s Palace.

Shepherd told convention attendees the industry must do more to reduce Repair Event Cycle Time (RECT) or face alienating customers.

“I will do all I can to help move the needled a little further along, because our future depends on it,” Shepherd told convention attendees. “Tomorrow’s customers are not going to continue buying our products if they have too many problems or it takes too long to fix them when they break.”

“Pointing fingers is easy,” Shepherd says, “but working together to fix this issue benefits all of us, and we all have culpability here.”
