Dometic announced this week it is the first major supplier to have its entire sales team participate in the RVTI Level 1 Certified Technician Training Course.

During the Stay at Home orders surrounding COVID-19, the Dometic RV Aftermarket Sales Team utilized the time off the road to improve its technical knowledge. According to Dometic, each member of the team has received two weeks of virtual interactive training and will soon begin their testing to be certified as a Level 1 RV Technician.

Dometic announced it is now the only major supplier in the RV industry to have their full sales team begin testing for certification in this area.

The course was provided by the RV Technical Institute (RVTI) with a mission to provide training for RV maintenance and repair that will reduce the RV industry’s shortfall of trained RV technicians. The RV Technical Institute seeks to improve the RV consumer experience, reduce repair event cycle times and aggressively reduce the RV industry’s shortage of trained technicians.

The training program, consisting of seven courses and 11 modules, was delivered in four-hour increments on a daily basis via interactive classes through Zoom. The hands-on labs were demonstrated online during the class and the participants then performed these labs on their own.

Dometic aims to provide quality service by ensuring team members are well trained to meet customer needs.

“The opportunity to participate in the RVTI course virtually allowed the broader sales team to improve their technical knowledge and have a more in depth understanding of the technical portion of the RV business,” Dometic announced this week.

The RVTI’s upcoming May training session runs from May 18-May 29 online. Training will take place for four hours each day, covering seven courses and 11 modules. Upon completing the course, participants can set an appointment to take their two Level 1 Certification exams online.
